Barangay Poblacion III is centrally located within the población area. It was established in 1982 when Poblacion was divided into four barangays. The new municipal building is found in Poblacion III. The Barangay is generally classified as urban with an area of 50 hectares and is bounded on the north by Calumpang Cerca, on the south by Barangay Poblacion I and Poblacion II, on the east by Barangay Bancod and on the west by Barangay Poblacion IV.
As the basic political unit, the Barangay serves as the primary planning and implementing unit of the government policies, plans, programs, projects and activities and as a forum wherein the collective views of the people may be expressed and considered and where disputes may be amicably settled.
