Brangay Poblacion I is located within the población area. It is bounded on the north by Barangay Poblacion III, on the south and east by Barangay Buna Cerca, and on the west by Barangay Poblacion II. The Parish of Saint Gregory the Great, the town plaza, the municipal covered court and the old Municipal Building are located in this barangay. It is primarily classified as urban with an area of 167.17 hectares.
As the basic political unit, the Barangay serves as the primary planning and implementing unit of the government policies, plans, programs, projects and activities and as a forum wherein the collective views of the people may be expressed and considered and where disputes may be amicably settled.
