Barangay Kaytambog was established in 1851 under the leadership of Gobernadorcillo Alejandro de Ocampo. It is more or less three kilometers away from the poblacion and is bounded on the north by Barangay Banaba Cerca, on the south by Barangay Pulo on the east by Barangay Kayquit and on the west Barangay Tambo Ilaya. It is primarily classified as rural with a total land area of 219.25 hectares.
As the basic political unit, the barangay serves as the primary planning and implementing unit of the government policies, plans, programs, projects and activities and as a forum wherein the collective views of the people may be expressed and considered and where disputes may be amicably settled.
