Barangay Poblacion IV was formerly a part of the Poblacion. It became a separate barangay in 1982 when Poblacion was divided into four barangays. Indang New Public Market, Rural Health Center and Indang National High School are located in this barangay. The barangay is primarily classified as rural with a total land area of 73.4 hectares. It is bounded on the north by Calumpang Cerca, on the south by Poblacion II, on the east by Poblacion III and on the west by Kayquit.
As the basic political unit, the Barangay serves as the primary panning and implementing unit of the government policies, plans, programs, projects and activities and as a forum wherein the collective views of the people may be expressed and considered and where disputes may be amicably settled.
