The name of the barangay came from a tree called “malarine” that grew in the place. It was established in 1851 under the leadership of Gobernadorcillo Alejandro de Ocampo. In 1991, because of its growing population and by virtue of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ordinance No. 23-1990 approved on November 15, 1990, Daine was divided into two barangays, Daine I as the mother barangay and Daine II as the daughter barangay.
Barangay Daine II is located on the northwestern part of Indang. It is bounded on the north by the municipality of Naic, on the west by Maragondon, on the east by Banaba Lejos and on the south by Daine I. It is primarily classified as rural with a total land area of 460 hectares.
