Barangay Daine was established in 1851 under the leadership of Gobernadorcillo Alejandro de Ocampo. In 1991, because of its growing population and by virtue of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ordinance No. 23-1990 approved on November 15, 1990, the Barangay was divided into two barangays, Daine I as the mother barangay and Daine II as the daughter barangay.
Primarily classified as rural with a total land area of 511.39 hectares, Baranay Daine I is located more or less eight kilometers from the población, 20 kilometers from Trece Martires City and 3.5 kilometers from the national highway. It is bounded on the north by Barangay Daine II, on the south by Barangay Lumampong Balagbag, on the east by Barangay Tambo Balagbag, and on the west by the Municipality of Maragondon.
